Wizkid (Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) Biography

Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He was born on July 16, 1990, in Lagos, Nigeria.


Wizkid began his music career at the age of 11 when he formed a group called the Glorious Five with his friends. In 2009, he signed his first record deal with Banky W’s record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), and released his debut album “Superstar” in 2011. The album featured hit songs such as “Holla at Your Boy” and “Tease Me/Bad Guys.”

In 2013, Wizkid left EME and started his own record label, Starboy Entertainment. He has since released several successful albums, including “Ayo,” “Sounds from the Other Side,” and “Made in Lagos.”

Wizkid has collaborated with numerous international artists, including Drake, Beyonce, and Chris Brown. He has won several awards, including BET Awards, MTV Africa Music Awards, and MOBO Awards.
